GAV105E Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Im after so advise .... i been offered a mk2 rs2000 custom in a navy blue colour, a lad i know bought it 7 years ago as a project. the shell is very clean, everything underneath is new, poly bushed lowered etc etc, it isnt mot'd but it really is like a new car underneath, the engine is fully re-built and hasnt been driven more than 500 yards yet, looks stunning but just wasting away in a garage covered in dust . but as im into anglias im unsure as to whether to buy or not , what sort of price do you think this should fetch ??
Admin Vista Posted February 23, 2011 Admin Report Posted February 23, 2011 I don't know but if you can get it for a good price I'd buy it. Even if you only want to finish it off and enjoy it for one summer you'd probably make a few ££ by finishing it.
MEXY867M Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 you maybe into anglia`s mate but all osf are sort after so whats wrong with makin afew quid and putting into what you like bud,in todays climate make the most of it you know it makes sense
Boreham Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 is ther an ANGLIA out there you'd rather spend the money on..? can you finish the work..(any welding ,spraying)on this RS yourself..? The market has weakened..at the moment...so if ye get it right..with the revelant paperwork for RS it could be an oppertunity.. I'd say £3000-£4000 for an orignal strong RS shell with it's running gear, average condition interior etc etc..
GAV105E Posted February 23, 2011 Author Report Posted February 23, 2011 thats the thing it doesnt need finishing at all, its all done, the engine is the nuts and is built by the current owner who builds engines for superstox ( like brisca F2's ) has a new randall LSD 3.5 i think, everything painted underneath and sits nice and low on revo's, has a beige interior but the bit that puzzled me is the fron recaros have leg extensions , now is that correct for that car ??? it has a half cage in the back, it just needs a wash and polish and would pass an mot no trouble, has the log book but is the old style as he never sent it off to change ( he has owned for 7 years . he turned down a offer of 5k but said it would sell for near that ?????
caprinerd Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 people frown upon others for buying a car and then selling it to make a profit but tbh why not do it, its a dog eat dog world and as said with todays ecco climate like it is we all have to make a buck some how and it could be the start of an osf car sales business for you on the side of what ever you do now
stuartp Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 if you have the money to buy it i don't see any reason why not one drive and you might fall in love with it (sounds like i would!) and if not, flog it on to an enthusiast or whip the engine out and stick it in an anglia!
GAV105E Posted February 23, 2011 Author Report Posted February 23, 2011 what about the price of it, thats where im stuck to be honest i just dont know what its worth ?????
rallyesport04 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 to be honest if it was mine i would want at least 5 if its as good as you describe it sounds like its had alot of time an money on it
dacar Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 To be fair £5000 for a Mk2 RS in rare blue is hard to believe, I would expect it should sell for alot more especially if its a solid shell. A steal at that price in my opinion.
popeye Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 the thing is... what it's worth to you..... we all have our own idea how much any osf is worth, what ever the condition... so if your happy spending over 5 grand for it . and that's what his looking for..go for it . and if your not happy there's allways some one out there looking to buy....but if your not sure....wait till you are...
GAV105E Posted February 23, 2011 Author Report Posted February 23, 2011 how do i post pictures on here as i will try and get a couple to show u all???
Savvi Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Gav as you say your into Anglias ............... Tell me where he lives I think youd enjoy using this throughout the summer obviously he's looking for more then £5k or else it would have been gone, i'd say he's looking for £6k so you might meet in the middle ? The prices are low at the moment and may get lower as the year goes on with work etc. If you dont mind hanging onto it for a couple of years then go for it, they will climb again in the future then it be worth good money.
In The Pit Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Midnight Blue with the tan interior is fairly rare and sought after on an RS2000. The colours match well I have a 1978 1300 L with those colour combinations.
4DOOR-SHERWOOD Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 if the car is fully built and to a nice standard and ready for mot then it is cheap at 5k, if a RS2000 in midnight blue was in the condition u say and fairly original with M.o.t it would prob make between 7-8k maybe more on ebay. Depends on who is looking at the time etc. Its cheap at 5k
