Passed my test in............. Renault Modis Diesel..

I passed my test in 1979 at 17 , in my G reg MK1 2 door Escort that i had at 16, done all the bits n bobs inc spraying it Russet brown (free paint from my uncle who work up the road in BL factory) and furred out the interior in brown long haired fur , those were the days

I practiced a lot in a Mini Clubman Estate.

 

1st car I owned after passing my test was a 2.8i manual Granny estate

Going to show my age here now, but had first lessons in Vauxhall Victor 101, and passed test, 1st time, in Mk2 Capri GT in 1976. Driving instructor was Russian, and car had a phone in it, one of the first you could get. You had to book a call with the operator, and she phoned you back when call was connected.
