sambo Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Hi all, Can anyone recommend to me a rear disc kit for an Atlas axle? I have the Sierra calipers, 147x10mm discs but for some reason im having nothing but trouble. The discs just bind up for some reason and its doing my head in. So, who does a good quality bolt on kit that will fit? Any ideas? Cheers!
MK2Ed Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Sam, a mate of mine had the Fostek rear kit, it's pretty bespoke and he had no issues or complaints...

jamie956 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 The guy i had build my axle dose a kit using a nice machined alloy bracket, cosworth rear calipers and discs. His name is Lea Atkins he builds alot of rally stuff give him a try 07974638324. One of his axles on ebay Item number: 200579502355
sambo Posted March 7, 2011 Author Report Posted March 7, 2011 Ah, i have found the source of all my troubles! The calipers i have have been modified The 'pillar' (threaded lugs) on the pad carriers have been shortened. thanks to Joe Aston for calling me late on Saturday night and pointing me in the right direction. they have been shortened but are also uneven lengths. No wonder i was having some a hard time getting it all aligned. So, does anyone have any pad carriers for solid discs? Sierra rear calipers? Cheers!
down2earth Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 As you've found the problem is there no way to make adjustments so you can use what you have already as long as it's safe etc ? A complete New rear brake kit would hopefully save anymore hassle and I suspect a few companies sell the same one's as mentioned previously so you could look at ebay Item number's 290512851777 or 230563895355 from Motorsport Tools for a reference ! Seem good quality but not used them myself and should fit 13" wheels if your going that size ? Would think an AP racing set up on the back is a luxury if you want some of the best stuff on your motor the one's like Gartrac sell but as alway's budget and application will dictate this. Best of luck with it sambo.
sambo Posted March 10, 2011 Author Report Posted March 10, 2011 Cheers bud, i have already forked out for AP's on the fronts and cant do it again!! Just gotta find some pad carriers for sensible money and i should be on my way!
