100ejohn Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Right the 100e has no engine at all and ive been offered a capri 3.0s engine with all the carb, manifold, gearbox and prop etc etc for £200 is this worth it or not, as i dont want to miss out. i was building a pinto for it but the v6 sounds nice.
Mr Sam Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 a V6 would be awsome for cruising..........but id go with a lairy X'flow
Admin Vista Posted January 26, 2007 Admin Report Posted January 26, 2007 Pinto does it for me, V6's are nice and the V sound is great but generally they cost a lot more to uprate than X-flows and Pintos
Gonzo Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 buy the v6, flog it on ebay for a profit and spend it on the pinto.

STUFORD Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 thats why the price of OSF are allways rising to stupid amount The only one he's found was for £600 so 400 would be cheep to him !
flyingbanana Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 i must be lucky guy then because i got a 1600cc crossflow out of a speedboat and it was a rebuilt and i paid £25 for the whole engine with everything still on it
alwayssideways Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 The essex is a great engine, I recently sold a wade R034 supercharger set up for an essex (Blower, heads, inlet, holley carb etc) - went for peanuts Would've gone well in a 100E I'm currently collecting the last few bits for the Turbo'd essex in my garage............... If its in good nick, 200 quid is pretty reasonable Parts for them come up quite regularly - 180BHP is easily achievable.
