Many medium size yachts don't have the range to cross the atlantic under their own power so are lifted (by crane for smaller yachts, larger ones go into a ship carrier that ballasts down to drive them in) onto transport ships so that their owners can cruise the meditteranean in summer and carribean in winter. In this case the crane failed and no it's definitely not photo shopped. It happened in 2007 Pic 1 Pic 2 you've seen, here's pic 3 & 4
