Admin Vista Posted January 24, 2007 Admin Report Posted January 24, 2007 But latterly proved not to be and with the benefit of hind sight proved to have been pretty dumb? There are a number of things I've done in my time that have proved to be rather foolish, the first one of which was overtightening the air vent valve for the main sea inlet on a ship I was bringing out of a major docking period. Dock was rapidly filling with water, and I was in the bilge trying to tighten the screw in valve that was slowly dripping down the side of the sea chest (where the main sea water cooling intake stainers are held) So instead of stopping the flood up of the dock, removing the valve and fitting a new gasket, I elect to try and get another half turn on the securing nut................................... You guessed it, it sheared off and freezing cold water is now hitting me in the face and rapidly filling the bilge . Long story short, there was no spare valve aboard and we had to delay flooding the dock for 24 hours while we found a replacement. BUT that pales into insignifance next to the stupidity of my girlfriends rabbit when it peed on me and thought it could escape my wrath by hiding in a cardboard tube................................... Well and truly stuck, you can just see it's feet sticking out the other end
DeuceCoupe Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 bet you stuffed the rabbit in the tube you cruel man
