Fiesta Steve Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Marco Simoncelli, one of the worlds greatest GP riders died today in a tragic accident involving Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi. He low sided the bike then regained some grip and without letting go was draged back across the track into the path of Edwards and Rossi who had no time to react and unavoidably collided with him. His crash helmet was ripped from his head, he died as a result of his injuries. Very sad day
garyv6100e Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 I was watching the race this morning when i saw it happen you knew it was going to be bad been a bad week for motorsport what with the death of Dan Weldon last weekend in the Indy cars and now Marco, always an entertaining rider to watch R.I.P
lotusless Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 another young man killed doing what he loved + at the end of the day all forms of motorsport have some danger. R.I.P marco
Tall paul Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Very sad, was watching it this morning. Another legend taken.
KJ 1320 Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Very sad day in motorsport a champion in the making lost. R.I.P

mk1super Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Metal watched it how the hell did his crash helmet come off tho? Think the force of impact did it boss, think bike was doing over 100+mph
Fiesta Steve Posted October 24, 2011 Author Report Posted October 24, 2011 Metal watched it how the hell did his crash helmet come off tho? Think the force of impact did it boss, think bike was doing over 100+mph Yes, I think the force just snapped the strap, and possibly his neck too
Durham Fiesta Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 was horrible to see something like that happen. All motorsport has its dangers but things like this drive home the risk those lads are taking everytime they get on the bike
Nik3100 Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 Motorsport has lost a true character, a real talent and a future race winner and probably champion. MotoGP will be a much darker place without him
Trevmk3 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Huge loss and was a person that would just put everything into each race and wasnt afraid to put peoples noses out of joint. Good tributes on todays coverage and the minute of chaos for him at Valencia sounded mental
Fiesta Steve Posted November 6, 2011 Author Report Posted November 6, 2011 Yes, it was a great send off with a minutes noise rather than silence, how cool is that! Although the race was good in the end I was gutted after the first corner accident. The four riders that fell all had a chance of a podium today. Dovi gave Honda a big two fingers up after beating pedro in the last race of the year and the championship. Anyhow, goodbye 800's, hello 1000's
