Who rents a lockup?

the oldskool bug is burying itself deeper and i need a mk1 escy. the cortina is still fine and well btw but after seeing a beautiful 1300 sport last night i cant be arsed with all my other plans it seems. i have too many other little bits and pieces around me and its all going. anyway back to topic.

 

who rents a lockup and how much do they cost? can you go to the council and rent them or are they all private now? rough price guide would be helpful as theres no point in me spending a months wages on the rent alone

mine costs me £10 a week its bigger than a single but not quite a double

this is rented private tho,i would store it at the garage were i live but its not realy big enough for tools and stuff

oh cool. i was hoping it to be around 30 quid a week, so thats cheered me up loads .

 

there are some private ones literally around the corner for me, but i want to get a rough price before i start knocking doors and asking people if they want to rent and getting ripped off .

Around here mate, the average price of a single car garage to rent privatley is about £50 Per Calender Month (PCM)

 

The councils down here do still rent garages, but there is normally a 2 year waiting list. Plus, the majority of these garages are not exactly in nice locations if you get my drift!

 

I would have thought, up where you are, they shouldn't be any dearer. Check out newsagents windows & the local papers. Also, do you know of any pensioners that have a garage going begging as quite a few will rent them out for a bit of pocket money

thats my plan jimbob, theres a housing court which i used to do my paper round on thats for elderly people. theres garages round the back of those. extra handy for trips home on tea breaks but we'll have to see. just getting info now, and usually car prices drop by a few hundred quid when its colder, so i'm aiming for then to have it all setup and ready

both my current cars are on my parents drive, but are both completly roadworthy- sticking one on axle stands and lifting it out of the way twice a day isn't really an option

lock ups are normally in dodgy areas,and with the rise in classics getting stolen,i would be very carefull were you rent.i am luck as i rent some sheds at the back of a farm,which i have rebuilt over time,and nobody can see them from the road.i just gave up 3 lock ups,which i rented for very cheap money,as they were sort of falling down! but were down an alley and had a locked gate at the entrance,which most don't.if your not far from the country,go knocking on some farm houses,as they normally have sheds and outbuildings that you could offer to fix up,and then agree a cheap rent.

I got well lucky with mine, My mate owns a sunbed shop and the garage behind the shop comes with it, Got power, lighting and access to a bog!!!

I only have to do a bit here and there, plasterin or electrics in the shop and he lets me have it for nowt, proper mate!!!

Security gates, good access and a knockin shop above, perfect!!!!!!!
