gearbox100 Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Hope it was found before anything happened to it. One up for the tracker.
wetandwindy3 Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 wow that was lucky most people never see there cars again a lot to be said about them trackers hope its not badly damaged
rallyesport04 Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 unfortunately in the world we live in now cameras an trackers are needed glad you got it back
Savvi Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 I really thought you were kidding when i saw this, sorry that it was taken but also so please you got it back ......... we spoke about trackers and i know you have the insurance approved Cobra one i'd spoke about previously, i remember you moaning about the cost of having / running it but it's times like this you must be so pleased that you had it. I read some of these post's with such sadness, after following the progress of a "home built" car, which in fairness all the money in the world wouldnt be the same as you toiling out on the drive or in your garage if you get paid out on insurance, then in a few minutes all that is taken away from you by some scumbag It's so nice to hear that you have got it back and make me feel it's all worth while fitting these things for a living
karengunner Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 No way!!! I'm so pleased you have got this back banarama!! Fookers who did this will get a shock when they realise it was tracked!
over_head_cam Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Shit that they took it but glad it's found. Let's hope they getthe fookers and there isn't any damage to the car.
FBF Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Its a sad state of affairs, wouldnt you love 20 mins in a room with whoever did it? Scum Glad you got the car again
JAY PS Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Glad its been found ,never before has it been more important to get a tracker fitted ,both my grannys have them and the cortina when its built . Hope its back in one piece
banarama Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Posted January 9, 2012 criky thanks for all the replies chaps.ive just got back ive put the car some where else for now, it was found in a field in a well open barn covered in mud ,in featherbed lane near addington with a blue sheet covering it.i dont think i would of seen it again,if it didnt have a tracker on it,still not the point thieving gits, anyway the drivers seat had been unbolted and slung in the back the dash part where the ash tray is ,looks like its been smashed off ,raher than unscrewed.steering lock,s been polled off,and drivers door lock has had a screwdriver in it and been forced turned.there was a towing frame beside the car,so i thats how they got it there, very strange to me,i wondered why they didnt drive it,mind you there was only fumes in the tank.i asked the bill about fingerprints ,didnt want to no.they gave me a crime number for insurance purposes, thats about it really.but i fix it meself. kind of lost interest in it for now
turnover Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 glad you got it back John ,more security on the garage aswell
SebringRS Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Blimey, i thought you were joking too to start with Glad you got it back in just about one piece They're gunna have a shock when they come back to it, to find it gone Get a taste of their own medicine And yeah, i can see my next purchase being a tracker too now
RossMK2 Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 And yeah, i can see my next purchase being a tracker too now
JAY PS Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Really this means two things , its some one local to south london and they are pros ,i would insist the soco fingerprint it and talk to cid at your local nick ,these cars being taken arent just random acts of theft ,they are well organised and proffesionals ,sad thing is they ARE on here without a doubt . I have had a lot of involment with car theft in a proffesional capacity over the years and they store a car waiting to see if its recovered within a few days . Sadly the police dont have the man power to lie in wait for them and the courts cant do a great deal either . Dont think this will be the last ,mates have lost a few cars over the years and its sad to think there is locals doing the thieving and deffo in the club scene ,not just on here and on other sites .
marky4 Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 so glad you got it back and without to much damage the police couldn't give a sh#t just give you a crime number for the insurance some little sh#t broke into my garage just before christmas didn't take anything and luckily the RS wasn't in there just my van so now its got extra bolts, locks etc. and an alarm police weren't interested surprise surprise. Deffo will have to think about a tracker now
4DOOR-SHERWOOD Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 I am so pleased you got her back John....I felt sick when I read your post this morning! Dont loose interest in it tho mate...Get her fixed again and light them rears up!! Just thinking....They would have got a shock if they had seen you laid next to it..!
Nick Mexi-cos Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Glad your got it back fella , bring back memories of my daytona yellow mk1 23 years ago stolen from my mates drive and found yep you guessed it up in addo , Glad you got it back tracker deffo going on my Mk1 cortina and Rs2000 couldne go through that , Happy its back and damage is not to bad
Mrs O/H/C Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Told you on the phone Mr Nana..dont let them win by losing heart with the car. Its gorgeous and through your love for it it was fitted with a tracking device which ultimately saved the car from never being seen again. You have OSFDC 2012 and all the shows coming up and im sure it will be like sticking your finger up at the scumbags if your having the enjoyment from it !!!!
gearbox100 Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 So glad there wasnt too much damage to the car and its complete . Dont let the scumbags spoil your hobby, get it sorted and get out and play.
lotusless Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Surely the police must have some questions for the land/barn owner ? how the fu.ck can this NOT be printed ? do the police ( stolen car squad ) think osf's going missing every week is just a coincidence ? can't they get their arse in gear + find out who is doing all this ? I don't have an osf atm + for the first time ever i'm glad i don't have one ! this is a proper organised team doing this it's not random, some two faced fu.cker who chats away to you at box hill or a show or maybe even posts on here is after your pride and joy LOCK THEM UP.. NEVER MEET ANYONE AT YOUR GARAGE TO SELL BITS OR CARS.. DON'T GET FOLLOWED HOME..CHOOSE YOUR "NEW" FRIENDS WISELY..NEVER DISCUSS YOUR OWN SECURITY ON A PUBLIC FORUM..GET LAID UP INSURANCE COVER FOR THE WINTER.. A TRACKER IS A MUST NOW THIS POST IS PROOF !.. MAKE FRIENDS WITH THE OLD NOSEY BUGGER WHO LIVES NEXT TO YOUR AWAY FROM HOME LOCK UP AND GET HIM TO KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR GARAGE FOR YOU, LEAVE HIM YOUR NUMBER + KEEP HIM SWEET WITH A BOTTLE OF WHISKEY FROM TIME TO TIME + YOU WILL HAVE A ON SITE SECURITY GUARD ( ive done this + it works a treat ) and the last one lets ALL look out for each other while we are out and about + make it really hard for these fookers If you see an osf on a truck or A frame make a note of the tow car/van and lets see if we can stop them bothering to take our cars. sorry for the rant chaps and john if you need any help to move your car or anything else i could do just text me mate
