ROLMFAO at rr forum

Now i know its not a done thing talking bout other forums but i had to share this with you

 

on 23rd of april i posted on there just like i did here wishing eveyone a happy st georges day which i think is normal by the amount of replys i got from here and on RR ..... well

 

I logged on yesterday to find that the post had been deleted and i received a pm saying simply READ THIS by a moderator which happened to be welsh and own a skoda because they thought it was wrong to celebrate st georges day so me being me wrote the following pm to said member

 

"Hello mate ,

 

i see that you have deleted the post of me wishing people a happy st georges day , seeing your profile i realise you havent got much going for ya the bit that rather grabs my attention is the fact you drive a skoda and dont live in England ...... however i am proud to be English just as you should be proud of being Welsh, i hadnt been wrong in any way celebrating a country wide celebration just like the paddys do with st patricks

 

I realise you may be a little bitter because my car is better than yours ten fold but thats no reason to be a knob and delete a harmless post , do me a favour if you feel a post like this offends the members have a look at the replys that it received before some bored skoda driver deleted and note how many people were celebrating with me

Nice answer Chris. I'm also a member of RR and even went to one of their gatherings.................not my cup to tea and haven't signed back in there since.

 

Every forum has different attitudes to moderation and of the ones I'm a member, the only ones that seem to have the right balance are this one and TS. On a BMW forum I'm a member of, the staff will rap your knuckles just for titling your post wrong, it often amazes me that they have any members left at all!

they are pretty clear in their rules that it's purely for posting about cars and nothing else so i guess the mod was within his rights to remove your post

 

 

the thing that winds me up on there is their insistence that you should only post positive responses to things - that's just dumb

As a Scot who read your post and this post I did not find any offence with it. I dont take any issue either as we all have something to celebrate somewhere along the line. Generally we Scots celebrate being pish at everything except curling. Haha anyhow good on you for speaking your mind to the bloke.....

Sometimes I check that board (mostly the meets/shows section) but Tbh there is alot of douchbags on the board. You can't say anything against anything. Some could say that the mk4 is the best model of escort, and you are not allowed to disagree basically!

Also alot of people who seems to think a corsa covered in stickers is a retro car!

 

The Retro Rides Gathering at Prescott Hill Climb is awesome though
