Ale06 Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 I want to be polite, of course. I only want to show other view of conflict. Both countries need to find a solution and don´t talk about a "colony situation" with people who spelled Argentine people is a world shame. By the way... Galtieri never was a legal president. Militar presidents were supported by CIA, not by Argentine common people. World is changing, and now things what happend in Argentina are happening in Europe and USA. History is a circle. Now is a very good opportunity. Let´s talk as friends. PS: Thank you for let me give you my opinion here in a British forum. I really apreciate it. Cheers.
SteveL Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Its called the Falklands ale and i have to agree with Vista ,the british landed first ,your people only want it now due to oil being found ,theres no room for negotiation its british end of ...If another conflict ensues prepare to loose badly ... Your a decent guy but you have your history wrong
Ale06 Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Nice to read different opinions! This is not the end of story, of course, and the name of island are Malvinas and Falkland for English people. You have a wrong story too mate. So, end of topic to me. Thanks for all.
mk1estate Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 The falklands islands ARE the falklands islands, they belong to the falkland people, who wish it to remain British, im sure if they wanted to be part of Argentina it would have happened by now. It has been estimated that the war in 1982 has cost the lifes of well over 2000 people now so lets not forget that.
Ale06 Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Malvinas is the right name mate... Forces dont´t give you the reason. It is funny as you ask British people if they want to be British people. Come on! No more colonies around the world friend. It isn´t against English people, you need to understand that. We respect all English people, but we want our things. Enought to me. We can think different but with respect. Cameron ISN´T the British people... Cristina ISN´t Argentine people. Both population need to think a good and final solution. Open your mind, we aren´t living in 1800... What do you think if we go with a nuclear submarine 200 km in front of Kent for example? You aren´t the owner of the world. It is offensive. Did you have a lot of opportunities of chat with Argentine people?? Do it. We hate the war friend. But we want our lands. I hope finally to find friends here, because I'm a good man, and of course you too. We can´t let the politicians ambitions block our friendships. I want to say if my opinions are offensives, and adm. wants to delete them, it is ok. I don´t want to do a stone into the shoe.
Admin Vista Posted July 3, 2012 Author Admin Report Posted July 3, 2012 Ale, it is highly unlikely that you will get any support or sympathy for your cause on a British forum so I'd give it up if I were you. Keep it going in the manner you are then there's going to be a falling out sooner or later. The almost unanimously held opinion in the UK is that the Falkland Islands (there is no such place as the Malvinas) have been British since before Argentina existed as a country, how therefore can Argentina lay claim to a group of islands (in international waters mind) that has belonged to someone else since before your country existed? Who else should have a say but the inhabitants? And for the record, the Falklands are not now nor ever have been a British colony. The islands are no more a colony than the Isle of Wight or Isle of Man, they are simply British, as are the inhabitants. While we're on the subject of colonies, isn't Argentina really just a Spanish colony that the Spanish created by marginalizing and pushing out the ethnic population of South American Indians? How about giving Argentina back to them?
Ale06 Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 We can speak if you prefer in private, but you have a "little piece of lost story". By the way, if in the forum, I see the name of my home (Argentina), I consider, I can post my opinion, with due respect. I had read some rude post about my country too. But, I apreciate, you don´t erase my comments. I´m in internet from 1996... and you? I always wrote with respect. Not all people can think the same thing about the world. Of course it is a good forum with nice people and if my comments are done in a polite way, you won´t need to erase them. By the way... I have some good English friends. Don´t worry, don´t fear me. I'm not a monster because I think different of you. Open your mind to the world. England was a true lighthouse in the world. I hope it happen again, but with respect to other countries. (Do I need go to jail for my thoughts? Relax man!!
mk1estate Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 With all respect to ale but what do you think Argentina would do if England "just" gave up the FALKLAND island to you, would you just push all the people living there now away and settle Argentinians in there ?.To be honest you have NO say in the matter as its the wish of the islanders to remain British. If the locals wanted to be cut of from Britain it would have happened as we are not in any way forcing them to remain British, it is thier wish not yours or mine or any government. I too am glad this forum has allowed you to voice your opinions and so far you have not been aggressive and i understand that it is your countrys believe, but do you not think that it is the interest of the islanders that is paramount here. Lastly, lets not forget this thread was originally started to respect those who died in the war on BOTH sides
Ale06 Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 Thank you for asking me!! Argentina MUST respect the people and their houses and bussiness, because we are all human being man!! In the continent sector are living a lot of welsh, scothish and English people and they DON´t have any trouble, because in my home doesn´t exist racism. We live in peace with all people. I only say, if we recover the islands, we will respect the people there, becase they are good people like us. It is the best solution, to me. Don´t angry with me man. I dream with the peace between our countries. Cherrs for everyone!!
accord83 Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 Ale, what is the classic Ford following in Argentina like? Any Escorts & Cortinas or are they mainly American style. John.
GJUK Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 Ale, what is the classic Ford following in Argentina like? Any Escorts & Cortinas or are they mainly American style. John. They have some good cars over there. They often mistake where they're meant to be though and are quite 'argumentative' to drive. Best to avoid if you're offered one, they never feel ‘at home’ to drive.
Ale06 Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 Here the Falcon is the model who receive more fans. But Taunus is the second... Other Fords are F100, Sierra, Escort and Fairlane. Of course you can find Mondeos, Focus, Fiesta, Orion but they aren´t followed by a lot of people. And... we have too some British cars too!! hehehe. dodge 1500 (Avenger), Siam Di Tella (Austin A55, A60 and Magnettes), I adore the Farina family too. Very good British design.
