Posse Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 I was listening to the radio today there trying to bring in a fine /law for flashing your lights to other road users warning them that there is a mobile speed camera ahead . They reckon its miss use of head lights what the fook next
442 Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 Its an old car Officer........main beam sticks sometimes so i have to wiggle the stalk!! Heard today that they got a new mobile type van that gets you comin towards and going away from it, so if you slow down for the speed trap and then speed up after it, it gets you aswell!! sneeky! Not fair
marky4 Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 always flash my lights to warn other drivers and will continue to do so, only time I ever see the police is on the side of a road with a fooking speed camera never saw one when my shed got broken into and my son;s bike got knicked or when other peoples garages, sheds, houses get broken into rant over

GJUK Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 We're better off than some other's though. However I agree, it's take take take.
SebringRS Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 My dad got pulled over ages ago (he was driving a Mk2 Zephyr as his daily so however old that would of been ) He was coming back from a car meet with another mk2 in front, one of his mates, my dad saw this police car parked up next to a lorry and trailer, so technically you werent meant to see him, but my old man did, but his mate didnt, so he flashed him to tell him to slow down About 1 minute later he hears the siren and see' the lights, so pulls over, policeman started telling him about this is was his road and noone drives these "hot rods" on my road and stuff Then came onto the fact of flashing the headlights, dad said there was a bump in the road and that made them come on He got away with it By this point his mate had pulled back up as he thought my dad had broke down, so the officer gave him the same speech about it being "his road" etc The next day he did complain to the local police station about how rude the officer was and so did his mate the same day, got asked if he wanted to take it further, but he didnt bother
Inspector Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 The new thing to do, I've seen lorry drivers doing is, don't flash your lights but stick your arm out the window giving the thumbs down. I don't think there is a law against that .......yet.
Andy44Boz Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 someone has already been prosecuted for warning others of speed traps! A lot of mobile cameras now have 4way cameras, and they can accurately record from 1 km away. Often by the time you see them it's too late. They record every car going by but the officer in side decides which ones to take further, so it's at their discretion.( That came from Cornwall and Devon traffic division)
fatboycharlie Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 what next i allways flash other drivers when there is a camera when we get warned in the work van we come round the corner with the middle finger up i think they no then the game is up
morcheen Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 my mate used to have a sign in his van and would put it out up the road from the old bill
w p e Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 at the end of it all the plod are our bitches we pay for them and the roads anything they bring is now days are ACTS/ledgeislations so dont realy mean shit. look up laws of the land and be surprised what we can do but they can't
5tox Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 the old thumbs down out the window has been standard practise round these parts for years when old bill are out robbing drivers
dacar Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 Safety camera vans are mostly operated by civilians and so are the partnerships that run the outfit. Only have police to ensure offence has been committed. Modern vans have the 4 way as described above to ensure motorbikes are monitored as well. They should not turn up at random locations and the website of the camera partnership should publish the locations of fixed and mobile sites.
Nick Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 Just argue that you were flashing to warn of another danger along the road such as a deer or something :L
XjamesX Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 So sick of this country trying to rob decent people
