Iv finally had my car out again after breaking the gearbox last time out. Its taken a while to sort things out but i eventually got it done and spent the weekend at Shakey for the hot rod drags.

After a disappointing saturday only managing 2 runs due to it being so busy, sunday started off well, First run and we were back in to the 12's which was a big relief with a 12.9 @ 105 mph. The 60ft was somewhat off what we we hoping for but a 2.0 with a 12.9 was promising. We changed the tyre pressures and queued up again. The car felt much better off the line and ran through with a 12.5 @ 106.8 mph. To say i was pleased was an understatement, 60ft still wasn't great but wasn't too bad either 1.74 with wheel spin. We went around again, unfortunately the car bogged down a bit off the line, 1.80 60ft but ran through with a 12.6 @ 107.1 mph

As far as im aware This is now the fastest x flow powered car in the uk and im sure theres going to be a bit more to come, with some better 60ft's and me actually getting more time driving the car instead of fixing it i hope it will run down in to the low 12's, Not bad for a home built 1700...

Nice work Joe!!! That's bloody quick!!! I know Toby ran a 12.5 but I guess technically that wasn't a xflow! Lol

Seems an absolute age since I had the old pushrod engine in my car! I still miss it!

Plans may have just changed for the Fiesta! :)

Thanks James  its taken a long time and a lot of effort but its 100% been worth it now. Well, im going to start collecting parts to build a pinto for it soon....

It might not be as quick!! I know iv joked in the past that it was built on the kitchen table but in reality its been a proper serious effort, a lot of time and thought went in to building this engine. It is a home built engine but it wasn't built on the kitchen table really!

Hope you get the weather for the night race at Pod - I can see you beating your time very soon.
