I have lost the key for my escort

Is there anyway I can go to ford and ask for a code if I supply the log book

Not sure if I'm making sense but can't find it any where

the key number is on the back of the lock, but I dont know who could cut a key from it in this day & age?

How do you get the lock barrel out without the key? (I've also lost the ignition key to the RS)

I found some key blanks on ebay for the Cortina, then got a local guy to 'copy cut' them as spares, they work ok, but obviously you would need an original to copy from, I also found 'new old stock' barrel and keys on ebay.

Normally the boot lock is the easiest to get out and find a lock number for, providing your locks are all on the same key that is the one to go for.

If you take the ignition switchl out the dash and take it to a locksmith they can take the barrel out. Think there is a release pin to push once the lock is turned to aux. Then the barrel will slide out and have the number on it.

 

Or ask Peter he can probably sort the whole thing for you. He's not that expensive.

my mk2 key unlocks and starts my mates mk1 so maybe try a key off someone whos got an old ford?

I was going to say that, most are so worn you could use anything flat that fits the slot to do the job.

look behind the bog where you might have dropped a log but had track suit bottoms with the keys in yer pocket ive lost keys and money while on the throne. worth a look

With my mrs OCD she would of found them before u lost them lol
