I see that her tyre is flat so I went over and told her before she drove away. She gets out and said "i'll have to phone the AA as I can't change a tyre". oh I say, do you want me to change it for you? She looked at me all shocked and said can you do it then. I said yes and get the kids out the car and my Jack as her car was one of those little Ka things. Any way must admit it took 10 mins as i couldn't get the bloody wheel trim off, i broke it as well at least it was off. She drove home and saved herself some money on the AA man. The next day she bought me some flowers, Bless I only changed her tyre for her.

X-pack-Glyn Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 About 4 years ago i came across a lone doris in a merc that had taken out a tyre, changed the tyre for her and moved the car off a blind bend where it was about to be hit, the whole time the doris stayed in her car... after it all she thanked me and said she hadnt anything to give me for the favour even though there was a wad that could choke a donkey i clocked in the centre console. her attitude totally stank and halfway through changing the wheel i was thinking i should have just left her there but its not really my nature.

Messenjah Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 in stevenage theres a bit of road tht goes straight under a roundabout on a dual caqrriceway but this dip is one lane each way and there were two women broken down about halfway up one side i saw them went past and stopped in a bus stop and jogged back told them to take the handbrake off once i was behind the car they did and i pushed them up the hill and into the bus stop they said they had been there for over an hour during rush hour and due to where they were people had to swerve round them into oncoming traffic and then back into the lane before hitting a fence and not a sole had stopped to help :@ i stopped for a car with a doris and 3 children in it to ask if she wanted me to change her tyre but she wouldnt even look at me let alone roll the window down to talk (fair enough i spose) but it pisses me off that no one will stop to help people these days i assure you if i see any of you broken down on the hard shoulder in ure osfs ill stop to see if i can help lol
Trevmk3 Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 i stopped for a women who was giving her daughter a driving lesson they were stranded on the chevrons in the middle of a main road, the handbrake was seazed on i helped skid the rear of the car round then picked the back corner up with the girl still in the carand dropped it which freed the brake up and the car started rolling down the hill had to tell her to put the brake on. they said thanks for stopping and were back on there way, i couldnt of left them stranded though could i

WTF!!! Its only a bloomin wheel, what can go wrong in undoing 4 bolts and then re-tightening, its not exactly rocket science is it
Gonzo Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 I got a lift home from work off a mate once and his brakes started squealing [mk4/5 fester] whipped the wheel off, pads were down to the backplates! so anyway, trip to autolec later, I'd done both sets of front pads on the side of the road and away he went after me giving him 'on pain of death' instructions to retighten the nuts when he got home. few weeks later, he asks why his car's making funny noises that got worse over the course of the day... penis hadn't tightened his nuts! wheel was nearly hanging off! bless 'im, not an ounce of mechanical know-how in his body.

Totally agree with the basic maintenence .. Had a doris and her friend pull up to the workshop, the passenger got out and asked if we stocked 710 thingies ........... ????? A 710 ... whats it look like ? its round with writing on it wheres it go ? under the bonnet I'm thinking filters ... pipes??? Her mate says .. show him on mine ... and opens her bonnet the doris then points to the OIL cap (turn your head upside down and read this 710 ) And before anyone says anything .. yes its a joke And well done Emma... shame theres not more like you
