Classic ford tour

I look at it and fancy it every year...............but am then put off by the mileage involved .

 

Dover for instance is around 290 miles for me before I even get to the ferry. Harwich is 330, Hull is 345 and  Newcastle is 410. The shortest trip for me would be nearly 1000 miles in a 40 year old Escort therefore. I think If I lived nearer one of the departure ports I'd be there like a shot though

I am at Beaulieu that weekend this year at a show . Next year I will do that. I know that area well as go there every year!! Nice part of France with fantastic roads. Anyone else at Beaulieu this May 5th???

I did the classic ford tour to jersey a couple of years ago, that was a great laugh, I know a few peeps that have done others to france etc. said they really enjoyed them

I didn't go on the Classic ford tour last year, I went on the Cortinas to Cortnia de Ampezzo trip instead, 2800 miles it was an excellent two week's! got to do a couple of circuits of Hockenheim and a mad drive around the Nurburgring! on the way, so thought it would be good to go on the Classic Ford tour this year

Tempting but no....

Visiting a Capri spares day in Germany on Saturday ( Dülmen )( famously yearly Capri spares day).

Visiting a Classic Ford spares day in Belgium on Sunday ( Nazareth near Kortrijk)
Last one is not far away from Laon in France and is where the tour went last year.

Ive done a few of these before, france, belgium, mosel valley, southern ireland and amsterdam. Will be back in france for this years tour. They are awsome and should be experienced.

 

Ref the mileage - the most ive done was the mosel valley tour. 1460 miles door back to door in a mk2 RS2000
