welshmike Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 Whats the reason for them being scrapped?! and not even broken for parts?! Thats got me really pissed off
Posse Posted April 5, 2013 Author Report Posted April 5, 2013 Some rights the round ones . Even the film crew cars got crushed there . No parts were taken off none of them and it was under strict supervision ....Shame really I could of picked the cars up and brought them home no probs lol

morcheen Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 for the sake of yet another shite film in the series, decent escorts gave their lives stick to ruining modern rubbish please.
Rick Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 I just don't see the reasoning behind this?Doesn't happen to any of the bond cars
katana Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 Come on - you haven't sussed it..........................a film company just happen to locate 5 or 6 good servicable Mk1's, do loads of mod's, then destroy them at a cost of what £50-75k ? That just says they were hooky to start with - no evidence = no crime! ! ! 1
XjamesX Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 That's so stupid, all for a really shit film with people who can't act to save there life. That guy that isn't Vin Diesel (Paul walker?) has got to be the worst actor I've ever seen. King dickheads
rallyesport04 Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 what a waste they could have cut them up for parts an pannels an saved a few thats left
thrashermax Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 Alancdavis from here sold one to them, he built it with 2.0 zetec fitted, was a lovely car... I really hope this thread is not true, it's criminal.
shaun1.6ghia Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 Guessing that the film company Is American, the problem would be sueing rights as if parts were sold from these cars and someone have a problem the American way is to sue the ass off anyone involved. Did anyone see the American topgear special? The car sold by one of them was sold as say a early 86 when the car was built in 85. Even though there was no problem with the car and it had been given to someone in need they still sued the bbc. That's the problem and why these cars are gone. Next time refuse to sell to tv..... Easy
aardvark101 Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 Simples, they just go down on the balance sheet as a loss. I used to contract to a large department store and they regularly used to skip things that had slight marks on them or a 42 piece dinner service with 1 broken plate, all in the crusher with a security guard watching, feckin criminal.
rallyesport04 Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 i picked something up from a scrappy that was brand new with tags still in the wrapper all it had was a tiny dent on it maddness to throw away useable stuff it just puts the price up on items if it has a fault but safe to use sell it at trade or even at cost then the manufactuer/seller hasnt lost anything an can keep costs down
Ianmexico Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 Absolutely sickening news that !! But to a multi million pound company these are only shitty old beaten up cars but to us they are treasured all for about a 2 minute part in the film prolbably too .
Che Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 "One of these is a car very recognisable to many New Zealanders, a 1970s era Mark 1 Ford Escort. In fact seven Ford Escorts were bought and built for the project, but only one survived the filming." http://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/photos/8443021/Cars-of-Fast-and-Furious-6

windymiller Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 Yeah, from what I hear it's the potential to be sued. They just don't take the risk - remember, these cars cost peanuts to them in the grand scheme of things.
Hairball123 Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 Well its done now atleast it makes our cars worth a tiny bit more such a shame and on the bright side being in the film will hopefully create new interest from young and old and cars hidden away in garages etc for years might now reserface due to film we can only hope!
