While I built and got some mileage onto the van, so I'm determined to put a few more miles on her this year.

So back in RS mode, I pulled her out the garage from under the dust cover she's been hiding under, gave her a good wash off for the MOT (sailed through) then a trip down to Alvin Powell's for a go on his rollers as it hadn't been running very nicely and was last done a few years ago

I'm pleased to say, she still produced the numbers with 160bhp at the rear wheels! Progression is a lot better now too.

2.2 bored and stroked, flowed and ported BVH, RL31 and Twin Weber 45's.

When I first had it done it felt awesome.......................but having been driving the van for a while it now seems kind of tame  :-)

Come on Scott - What else you got in hiding!

You know don't you? I haven't seen it in a while though. I was supposed to be collecting it this weekend after an extended period in retirement................but a union on the petrol tank was leaking when it went for MOT. They tried to cure it by nipping it up but swung off it a little too much and made it MUCH worse. Petrol tank needss to come off for repairs now  :arnie:

Oh yeah I remember now. Very cool 8)

The burning question is though Scott, what are you gonna build next?

There must be something you really fancy?

Nothing! It costs too much to store them all and I find it VERY difficult to part with anything. My garage is full of bits and pieces and only the stuff that I'm 200% certain I'll never need gets passed on.

Probably most classic car owners are like this, but for me I think it comes from my days in the Navy, where spares were a bitch to get hold of and every naval engineer hoards things in every nook and cranny he can find.

Picture the scene:

"Here Chief, I've got a shitty stick going spare, any good to you?"

"Damn right, I'll find a space to keep that in, it might come in handy one day!"

That's why I keep changing engines! in a year or so I'm looking at swapping the injection plenum for triple idf style throttle body's, just to keep the interest going!  :-)

Very noble of you Dave, it's rare to see such a selfless offer these days. I'll let you know

The stripes were on it when I bought it and I don't know where they were sourced from, I did get a couple of material samples from DMB but neither of them exactly matched the colour of the ones on my car. They were close, but a bit more orange. I believe mine to be ochre.

There was a guy selling wheel centres on ebay but whether he has any more I don't know. Speedshack (I think) did a run of them a few years back but you could also try the AVO club
