Top Ghia Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 Finally tracked down a Two door that didn't cost me a limb or a divorce. And it was on my doorstep too. Its stickered up like a Mex but spec is more RS2000. Mildly tuned 2.0 Pinto rolling road setup to give 121bhp. 5 speed box, Capri 2,8i struts, vented dics, bilstiens and 9 inch brakes at the back. Had to sell the Ghia to buy it but im well happy. Some pics for ya. 1

Top Ghia Posted June 23, 2013 Author Report Posted June 23, 2013 Thanks all. Im wondering if anyone knows the car, The guy i bought it from had it 6 years and it was already in this spec when the guy before him bought it, so its been in this spec for a good number of years. the second owner sold it in 1998 after 16 years ownership, i winder if thats when the build started?
Admin Vista Posted June 26, 2013 Admin Report Posted June 26, 2013 Lovely looking car, fancy bringing it to Ford Fair or Retro Rides gathering?
Admin Vista Posted June 28, 2013 Admin Report Posted June 28, 2013 Cheers planning to go to Ford fair. Look forward to seeing the car, but if you wish to park on our stand (and you'd be welcome to do so) please be advised that there is now very limited availability of stand passes to do so and these are available on a first come first serve basis. Buy here if you need a ticket with free stand pass http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/ipb/index.php?/store/product/24-ford-fair-tickets/ or here if you already have tickets and just need a stand pass http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/ipb/index.php?/store/product/25-ford-fair-stand-passes/
In The Pit Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 Nice looking car, and w reg thats a late one! Yeah W reg ones are getting harder to find now. It looks in good condition and as others have said the interior looks nice. So what model is it actually? and are you gonna keep the Mexico stripes on?
gillibrand Posted July 2, 2013 Report Posted July 2, 2013 Very nice car <br />Things dreams are made of <br />
Top Ghia Posted July 3, 2013 Author Report Posted July 3, 2013 Thanks for the comments. The car was a 1.3L, Sold in Leicester and still has the original dealer mudflaps. It does have some cosmetics to sort out that dont show in the pics, and 2 small holes in the seats, in the vinyl though so hopefully an easier repair than if it were in the cloth. The bottom of the passenger door is quite bad and will need either some new metal of complete skin. I do like the Mexico stripes but the car is more flatfront RS2000 so they may come off. I know Joe public wont know its not a real one though.LOL. For now and what remains of the summer im just going to drive it.Vista i have bought a stand pass. See you at Ford Fair,
Admin Vista Posted July 3, 2013 Admin Report Posted July 3, 2013 I do like the Mexico stripes but the car is more flatfront RS2000 so they may come off. I know The Stripes loook good on the car and the mk2 Mex had a pinto as standard, a 1600 of which looks little different to a 2.0 at a glance. I would leave them on
