shaun1.6ghia Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 My brother has a real nice red 1.9 gti 205 for sale too. We are kings lynn/Peterborough area pm number if interested
MK2Ed Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 Completely pointless in this thread but best handling car I've owned was a Renault 5 gt turbo. Little rollerskate on wheels. It would have run rings round my mk1 golf GTi, and 205 GTi. Good luck with the car, looks great! Lots of those at Retro Show last weekend - big stand of 'em. I like 'em TBH but they had their faults. The Ren Sport Clio was a mighty successor...
MK2Ed Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 Here's the Daddy of hot hatches ever - used to go head to head with the RS200 in Rally Group B:
mk2 mike Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 This would be my choice for my collection if I won the lottery
GJUK Posted July 12, 2013 Author Report Posted July 12, 2013 Cheers guys going to see a 1.9gti with gti6 engine tomorrow. J
Kevin Mk2 Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 I remember back in the 90s, when I was a teenager, getting a lift in one being driven by a complete maniac. Pretty damn scary if I'm honest, but maybe my opinion will be biased. (Truly thought I was going to die that night)

Escort Mk1 4 Door Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 well used to moved away now it wasnt to bad really fixed it all just tight s bend and the arse went off the edge of road and took out a barb wire fence
The Transplanter Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 My mate has a 1.9 with a GTI6 engine, and he also owns the red 4wd cossied one which has just been totally freshened up and will make its debut at pugfest tomorrow. French cars do nothing to me, but the 205 is one of the better ones
GJUK Posted July 14, 2013 Author Report Posted July 14, 2013 Oops Doesnt she look good! GTI6 engine for fun times. 1
SmokeEm Posted July 14, 2013 Report Posted July 14, 2013 Fun indeed but be wary of build quality. Its proper shite...
GJUK Posted July 14, 2013 Author Report Posted July 14, 2013 I've had one before, I agree they are made of cheese. Just something to use which I can lob the shopping in rather than taking the escort out, which is a bit of a full on job, harness, cage and rattles. It's fun, but a bit full on. This one has comfy seats
willsy Posted July 18, 2013 Report Posted July 18, 2013 Great cars, had one myself Be careful not to lift off the gas on a fast bend! They have a great knack of cocking a rear wheel and pitching you into a hedge
Mickey Stewart Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 I owned one of these about a 3 years ago, good fun and like a little go kart, they do have problems from leaky sunroofs and seals etc Enjoy the pocket rocket
mk2 mike Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Great cars, had one myself Be careful not to lift off the gas on a fast bend! They have a great knack of cocking a rear wheel and pitching you into a hedge Speaking from experience?
