Completely pointless in this thread but best handling car I've owned was a Renault 5 gt turbo. Little rollerskate on wheels. It would have run rings round my mk1 golf GTi, and 205 GTi.

Good luck with the car, looks great!

Lots of those at Retro Show last weekend - big stand of 'em.  I like 'em TBH but they had their faults.  The Ren Sport Clio was a mighty successor...

I remember back in the 90s, when I was a teenager, getting a lift in one being driven by a complete maniac.  Pretty damn scary if I'm honest, but maybe my opinion will be biased.  (Truly thought I was going to die that night)

My mate has a 1.9 with a GTI6 engine, and he also owns the red 4wd cossied one which has just been totally freshened up and will make its debut at pugfest tomorrow.

French cars do nothing to me, but the 205 is one of the better ones

I've had one before, I agree they are made of cheese.

Just something to use which I can lob the shopping in rather than taking the escort out, which is a bit of a full on job, harness, cage and rattles. It's fun, but a bit full on.

This one has comfy seats :-D

Great cars, had one myself

Be careful not to lift off the gas on a fast bend! They have a great knack of cocking a rear wheel and pitching you into a hedge
