Admin Mk2Jo Posted August 28, 2013 Admin Report Posted August 28, 2013 Darren (Posse) is trying to speak to them ... at the moment the owners of Ryka's Cafe are not very welcoming following the burnout antics from last time and could make it awkward re. The police prescence ... watch this space ... we're working on it!
Posse Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 Not a lot at the moment just waiting to hear back the powers to be are away until monday... Then ill ring .

Admin Vista Posted September 19, 2013 Admin Report Posted September 19, 2013 OK folks, sadly the long and short of this is that there will not be a Boxhill meet for the foreseeable future. We have been playing it down and hoping the problems would dissipate but they haven't. There have been numerous complaints about the standards of driving (burnouts etc) to the police from members of the public, both from those using the car park and facilities at Raikka's cafe and from those walking in the surrounding area. The culmination of this following the last Boxhill meet was yet another visit to Darren's house from the boys in blue. This time he has been threatened with a Public Nuisance Order and we (admin) see no reason to risk the Police going through with that threat against him. We were considering whether simply asking members to be conservative with their driving on departure would do the trick but that request was largely ignored at the summer show and many instances of tyre smoke on departure put paid to the hope that people could be trusted. Regrettably therefore we will not be organising any further meets there this year. Gents, ladies, sorry but that's the final word for this year. We hope the lesson can be learnt and we can get back there as a site next year.
SmokeEm Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 Not a surprise to me that's for sure. 1
dalmarshall Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 Thats sad news but hardly surprising as smokem says. Burnouts - Fun to watch and almost obligatory when leaving boxhill but they are unfortunalely ruining all our best meet venues. Of course the landlords arent going to stand for it, they'll get a bad rep for themselves. Another hot topic at the mo is 'Is the old skool ford scene finished' I say absolutely not but our antics aren't helping it!! I hope Rykas let OSF come back, Boxhill is a legendry meet
The Transplanter Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 The Chelsea Cruise has been gaining momentum over the last 2 or 3 years again, and I know a lot of OSF boys get up there. The Police seem to be turning a blind eye to the burnouts just now, but no doubt at some point they will close it down like they did all those years ago
garyv6100e Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 Such a shame that these type of antics seem to be taking over at our meets and shows, if we are not careful OSF wont be welcome anywhere and that would be a great shame as i find these meets and shows should be all about the people and their cars and not behaving like a bunch mindless chav's.
Tall paul Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 What a shame, hopefully it can be rescued for next year.
damian1969josh Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 all i can say is this is a pity.. i love boxhill meets but this is happening all the time no morleys meets anymore and now boxhill ..how long before there is no greyhound meet and that is what will kill osf as if there is no were to go then the cars will just sit in garages which would be a bit shame ,,,
w p e Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 sorry but anyone can go to boxhill and theres no law saying you can't go in whatever car you wish to go in rykas don't own the car park if you /me /us wish to pop there for a burger and a chat theres fook all they can do as long as know one does the burnout bullshit on entry or exit no one can dictate what vehicles we travel in for a day out or a cup of tea and a burger. sorry but thats a lawful view on the boxhill matter
SmokeEm Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 The culmination of this following the last Boxhill meet was yet another visit to Darren's house from the boys in blue. This time he has been threatened with a Public Nuisance Order and we (admin) see no reason to risk the Police going through with that threat against him. I know what you are saying Wayne but surely you don't want Posse carrying the can for everyone else? People just cannot be trusted to behave
w p e Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 its quite a simple solution dave if its not an organised meet by OSF just a word of mouth meet up on a certain day then darrens in the clear. if i fancy a burger and a coffee at boxhill and decide to go in my shitbox with a few mates i will. same as when the bikes turn up there every sunday its not organised its just a thing they do .
w p e Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 oh and if darren keeps on with the stick of rock scenario im going there on my own to do plenty donuts in the carpark with an OSF banner stuck on me car 1
brettp Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 What about a breakaway group like a hells angel type wing of the osf I'm nearing middle age getting fat and like noisy engines .All joking aside why not pick another pub stick a bill bord outside saying no burnout s or dick head driving and try and start somewhere new?
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 22, 2013 Admin Report Posted September 22, 2013 I asked nicely for no burnouts at the summer show but some just couldn't resist laying down a set of big fat no. 11's so it makes no difference what we ask for Brett .... like Grump said, it's a public car park so if a group of mates were to turn up on a certain date, say, 5th October for example then it would not be anything organised by OSF as we are not having any more organised events at Boxhill this year .. and that's official. 1
dalmarshall Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 How weird, I might be popping down there for a cuppa on that day 2
The Transplanter Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 How weird, I might be popping down there for a cuppa on that day what times a good time not to get there 1
BaileyMex Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 what times a good time not to get there I wouldn't get there from 10am onwards if I were you, I hear the car park gets busy sometimes 1
Posse Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 oh and if darren keeps on with the stick of rock scenario im going there on my own to do plenty donuts in the carpark with an OSF banner stuck on me car Skips Are better for you lol 1
