mexicansteve Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 So not being that mechanically brave I had a corner of my local garage and managed to take off the cylinder head for new valve seats. Today I got it all back together and fired her up...it all works, woohoo. Almost immediately when depressing the accelerator, the throttle cable snapped.
mk2 mike Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Hence why I never do stuff myself on my car as that kinda stuff always happens. I feel your pain.
mexicansteve Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 I don't normally do stuff, I'm having a poor moment and this has saved me about £400!! 1
Admin Vista Posted February 28, 2014 Admin Report Posted February 28, 2014 I do stuff myself whenever time allows but to be honest, I don't really enjoy it like some do. That said, I got a lot of satisfaction out of building the van myself.

mexicansteve Posted March 8, 2014 Author Report Posted March 8, 2014 And now I'm sat in a carpark awaiting the RAC again as the tappets have tightened up...again and I'm going nowhere. Might be time to put this in a shed and get something normal
