Even in the UK pinto bits would be easier and cheaper to get hold of if just standard stuff, a family friend has a old Elan and reason its sitting and been sitting for years is because needs a engine rebuid, he got another engine from somewhere and wasnt much better. he wants a rebuild with a bit more power but just waiting to have the cash to get it built as to many stories of huge bills.

Yes thats the reason why Twincams are rare here now is because all the Elan owners butchered them for engines and now Twincams are worth more than Elans LOL When I got my Twincam there were 3 others within 1km of my home that I knew about. Now look how rare they are. I see there are new re manufactured heads for the Lotus 8v but they cost thousands. As I mentioned in my private message to you just 18 months ago I bought a brand new Pinto Head still in its Ford box with valves, springs and bearings for 180 quid off Ebay.

Dont get me wrong when you lift the bonnet and see those Webers and the gleaming Lotus cam cover its really impressive but I think  an easy maintenance tourer would better suit me now.

I'm going to need to sort the agreed value out myself

I'm a member of SEOC and I wouldn't hold my breath on getting a valuation from anyone there

No idea who to go to actually

DO OSF offer a valuation?

Not as a rule as we'd need to see the car to do a valuation and none of us have time to dedicate to it outside of our presence at club stands......but if a car is present on one of our show stands, we have written valuation letters for our contributors in the past.

Hi Vista, can you explain what's involved with being a Contributor, please?
