Not at all, there are lots of YB conversions out there and depending on the standard of job done, the mapping in the engine and the suspension / grip set up some of them drive very nicely.

 

My van is easy to drive and behaves impeccably when you're not on it, but is capable of much greater things when you are.

Muzzman I got a Y/B in my escort but its in N/A form they go in so easy like I've got if you come down the next eagle meet I will be there in my mex I'm not working for once come and have a look

Muzzman ive also got one in my Escort van and drives no differently than a pinto in traffic and have / do use it on a daily basis , out of interest how much did the setup on the ebay link you put up go for ..........Go YB youll never regret it :dance:

I have a YB in mine producing circa 380 bhp.

 

With all the other mods done etc makes a very fast car.

 

I have upgraded to bilstein coilovers, 6 linked, AP brakes, all chassis strenthening.

A YBT in an escort does all sorts of jobs

it takes your gran to the shops

it returns a good fuel economy

it wont want constant attention due to going off song

it will also put a big smile on your face when you push the loud peddle

it will scare the s...t out of you in the wet

all in a good motor to have in your escort

At the end of the day it depends on what power your running ,and how you drive it with the pedal ,let's face it 300hp in any car that weighs under a ton isn't slow on the road,

I think that just about sums up a YB ....... :D :D
