Admin Mk2Jo Posted January 29, 2015 Admin Report Posted January 29, 2015 .... when you buy a new car!!
Admin Vista Posted January 29, 2015 Admin Report Posted January 29, 2015 Nice prices too, wonder what they'd work out as adjusted for inflation?
DT36 Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 I think that garage is long gone now. Might be wrong, but I don't recognize it. 1
ianb10 Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 Oh my, if only they were that price now, I would have a yard full of them.
The Transplanter Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 The Escort GT is twice the price of everything else I vaguely remember the stamps. but im a bit to young Im sure the Co Op did a similar stamp thing? 1
The Transplanter Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 just googled it I thought it was the case as I remember mum & dad using them to help buy a bed 1
ianb10 Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 I got my first torque wrench with Green shield stamps, so that just shows that I am an old bugger. 2
accord83 Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 I got the job of licking and sticking them in the books, my old man used to get loads, he worked for a petrol company and did over 40k a year on free fuel, whenever a company petrol station did triple stamps he filled up. I had a tongue like a camel drivers cod piece by the time I was 10. It was child abuse I tell ya! 5
Admin Vista Posted January 29, 2015 Admin Report Posted January 29, 2015 But why call them Green stamps and then print them in blue?
The Transplanter Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 they were green, the blue ones were coop 1
The Transplanter Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 I got my first torque wrench with Green shield stamps, so that just shows that I am an old bugger. Didnt they do catalogues with the number of stamps needed to buy a torque wrench for example? 1
Admin Vista Posted January 29, 2015 Admin Report Posted January 29, 2015 they were green, the blue ones were coop remembered them being green but didn't look closely at the blue ones and thought they were also green shield
ianb10 Posted January 29, 2015 Report Posted January 29, 2015 Yeah they did a catalogue with the number of books of stamps required for items, I seem to remember that I bought my car ramps with these as well or was that Embassy cigarette vouchers, just shows how old I am I suppose. 1
