I phoned earlier today and Was told that you couldn't insure my mk2 escort with an 1800 Zetec engine! Have to say I'm very surprised going by what other people have done to their cars and are insured by you, and you couldn't even give me a price! The bloke on the phone wouldn't even take the list of mods on the car (I explained lots had been modded, brakes suspension etc) and he only wanted to know about the engine (even then he called it a v-tech and said it had 180bhp) and when I corrected him he didn't seem bothered and didn't try another quote with the correct engine! (The correct engine has 130bhp max, less than my current xflow that I used to be insured with you). Found it very odd that I wasn't even asked about my job, licence or any of the usual questions asked by other companies! I found your company good to deal with previously, it was always nice to speak to someone who understood modified Fords but it looks like things have changed since I was last with you. Oh well guess I'll give my money to another company! [emoji53] 2

SmokeEm Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 I'm currently with A Plan Thatcham. Over the years I've used them all including Flux and I've NEVER paid more than £150 for an agreed value classic policy on anything I've owned. That is with 5000 mileage cap though.

I'm just waiting for them to get back to me Dave. The guy on the phone was very helpful. Finger crossed. Tried RH too (my current insurers) but they added over £100 to my renewal price for the (lower powered) Zetec install. Go figure! 1
