This thread is quite funny from my perspective as here the bully boys are the yobbo V8 Muscle car fraternity. All the classic Euro Fords were lumped together in their eyes as shopping or girly cars. Only if you popped a 351 V8 in the odd Capri was it deemed a mans car. In the 90's the V8 brigade forced a change to touring car racing in Australia forever. From one year to the next they banned all touring cars except Ford and GM V8s because all the Cosworth Sierra's, Nissin GTRs and even M3's were thrashing their ar*es off. And we have been forced to endure V8 only touring car racing here ever since. They laughingly call the series V8 Supercars to this day! Given both companies have stopped making cars here as of next year they must be scratching their heads what to race from beyond then?

 

So if you ever have doubts with your Escort brethren, spend a few weeks here in the motoring scene and you will think you have travelled back in time to the southern hillbilly states of the USA and the good ol' boys. You wont give each other any BS or mockery again!
