Bigfish Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 afternoon can anyone tell.me if this box is the v6?
John escort mk1V6 Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 No thats a 4cil gearbox with a 4cil bellhousing , this is a 6cil sorry.
Bigfish Posted January 29, 2016 Author Report Posted January 29, 2016 i thought i was a 4 cylinder but i had so many issue trying to get it to engage with the engine i thought something was up. ill have to have another look 1
HotRodMatt Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 Have you got the correct clutch plate? They can be awkward to put back on, but a bit of a wiggle and lifting the back of the box higher works. 1
Bigfish Posted January 30, 2016 Author Report Posted January 30, 2016 im not sure i just picked up the engine just wanted to chuck it in so i can make sure everything fits as should. (going in a kit car) thought it would be easy like my last but nope. no amount of wiggling. would get them to join. ill take a pic of the clutch it may shed some light
colr6 Posted January 30, 2016 Report Posted January 30, 2016 Box should be 1" 23 spline, so should be clutch plate used. Another thing that would stop it going together is incorrect / damaged spigot/ bearing very mis aligned clutch.
deltamal Posted January 30, 2016 Report Posted January 30, 2016 V6 is type 9 with a long input shaft, it should project beyond the belhousing, 23 spline.
