Hello all I don't get on here as much as I would like,

Over on Buysellcortina and MTOC. I am organizing an all cortina meet at Santa pod raceway over the weekend of

 

July the 2nd & 3rd 

to maybe see who owns the fastest cortina in the UK ?
Do you! think you do have it ? Why not come along and show us




But Its not all about the fastest cortina As I will be taking a blast drive down the strip in my all Standard MK3 GXL.

Just a bit of full for all cortina peeps and a chance to meet up have a beer or three, camp over night and maybe try your cortina down the strip at santa pod.

On the sunday is the Retro Show, so there should be plenty of other classic cars around, maybe see if your cortina is faster then a morris marina or a TR7 .

Certainly don't have the fastest but im up for this will be there for the OSFDC, might have to get my dads estate out as well. 

 

You can put me down in the modified class, MK2 1600 super, Grey, 2000cc YBT, 12.5 @ 113mph.

You never know I might even get there, speed as fast as I can push it, bhp depends if the heater motor goes, 1/4 mile not a catting hells chance!

Come on col need a target date to work to, u got it back from paint yet.

That's the hold up, the painter. Because it was a fill in job for him not really rushed it. Left to do is remove dents from roof, try and get a door skin to fit because it's miles out then final prep and paint. He's going to put me back about three weeks,that's a lot of late nights to make up. Plus other factors prop to be made,wheels to sort size and order, speedo to have made and calibrated plus all the hiccups along the way

mine was in the painters for a year! ive learnt never to tell a painter it no rush or do it as a fill in job there all the same.

Yes got a guy fairly local to me to build it, went for 46" wide to get wider wheels in as you suggested. It came out under £1900 result. The painters doing a good job, every trim hole welded up, bits he wasn't happy with chopped out and done

Yes I was disappointed in the turnout ,It would have been nice for people who were not coming along to just post up. Lesson learnt I suppose, I wont be doing it again .
