I know of a MK II 2 door escort just sitting in this old tossers garage and he won't sell it...

I'm gonna wait till he drops off the perch and swoop

I was trying to get hold of an Alpine (to make a Tiger out of) which had sat in the guy's garage for fifteen years.

He'd started to 'restore' it, though it was largely f*ck*ed with most of the sills and door pillars missing (so bad they wouldn't support the doors).

I made him a sensible offer, which he accepted straight away, but said I couldn't take the car immediately as he "had to get all of the parts together".

I rang him every couple of days for about three months. He was:

Out.

Out of the country

In Hospital

On Holiday

Just popped out but would be back in a minute.

etc etc.

On the odd occasion during this time that I did speak to him we had to 'renegotiate' as he'd found 'lots of new parts' and therefore thought the car was worth far more. It's the only deal where I've actually haggled up!!

At about the 4 month mark I actually managed to speak to him straight away.

"It's gone mate - I scrapped it"

What really pi**ed me off was the time I wasted, and the fact that I knew he'd taken more money for it. Why not be honest and say?

W*NK*R!!!! :x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x

At the end of my road there is a Mk1 Cortina in someones front garden... It's been there since my dad did his paper round back in 1965  Needless to say it's knackered, but the chap just isn't interested in parting with it.

There is a rumour that he has got a genuine Lotus in his garage, but that has yet to be prooved...

there was a 4 door up the road from me and me and my mates asked about it for ages and he wouldnt get rid then one day i went by and its gone  ....i know some one has a mk1 cortina...4 door and havnt asked him yet if he wants to get rid of it has i might get it to repair my dads one that ive been given and ill be the 2nd owner 8) .....only prob it was stolen and written off and sat in the garage for over 30 yrs :(

we knew of a mk2 cortina not far from us think it was a 1600 deluxe rotting into ground we opened the drivers door and it kinda collasped we asked would he sell it nope then asked could we take some of the chrome bits off grill bumpers etc and the man said no it will be an eyesore lol eventually he said we could have it by this time you woulg need something like a tractor to get it out no chance was gone later after that(scraped id say)

knew of a corsair ina field back in 98 when we had ours was getting bits off it and the drivers door wouldnt open so we tried kicking it out from the inside and it came off along with the front wing  wasnt worth having bits off it

thing is when they do decide to sell it will be so rotten it wont be worth jackshit and the scrapman will end up taking it

i also know to a mk1 scirrocco which quite frankly is rare as these days. he wants £350 for it though :-S

There is a brown mk2 escort around the corner from me, going round tomorrow to ask about it.

There was a Mk2 RS2000 nearby sitting in a garden for about 3 years, but it disappeared.

I heard of a guy who had a Mk1 Cortina rotting outside his house. He wouldn't sell it to anyone. Eventually somebody waited until he wasn't there and took it away
