Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 More info here, http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/ Allready got meself the Retrorun tickets including the 100mile retrorun, Renault F1 factory visit & Aston Martin & Jaguar Land Rover factories visit and track parade at sunday and parking at the circuit and not outside somewhere nobody's looking at it. Might be interesting for OSF to have a clubstand on site.

According to mail from Silverstone more then 100 car clubs already have listed to this event. Its a three day event with a campsites nearby ( I stay at a campsite near Banbury about 25minuts from Silverstone ). Its not all about Ford, its all about classics and racing. Oke, Tickets aint cheap but all worth the money. If Old Skool Ford is attending for sure Il put my Capri on stand while I should be at the Retrorun parking.. Sorry but this looks very expensive to me. I enjoy my classics but not sure I enjoy them enough to shell out this much when here'll be fuel, food and accommodation to fund on top. Thoughts? colr6 Posted March 18, 2016 Report Posted March 18, 2016 Agree it is expensive, suppose most of the shows people do are one dayers as this being three day you can soon rack up the dosh. Imo unless you can get a few cars to attend as a club it's not going to be really worth it. Maybe a bit to yuppie for us mere ford owners. Even the camping ain't cheap, charging per person and not by pitch will again if you go as a family rack it up again.

JP. Posted March 19, 2016 Author Report Posted March 19, 2016 Hmm, did pay early bird £185 ( €250,- ) for the 3-day Retrorun arrangement. But that includes two entrée tickets. In our experience from last year, you get what you pay for. This event is so massive, they have lots of busses going round the track the whole day with several stops for free. Its an all classic car race event and everything is accessible including the pits garages. Its a five days event for us, one day drive with the Capri from Holland, 3 days Silverstone Classic and one day drive back to Holland as I have to be back to work on Tuesday.

JP. Posted July 31, 2016 Author Report Posted July 31, 2016 Done. Too much new cars. Too many Porsche (60% of all) Too many the same. Too little auto clubs with lesser cars. Too much fee keeps everyone away. 1.90 for a cuppa tea...4.50 for a pint. 12 for a wood stove pizza thst was actualy a piece of cardboard... Meal at the Pitstop rezzy was good value for money and good to eat though. Last year even while it was raing cats and dogs it was a far better veneu. Retrorun rally on saturday was good.
