hi all i'm in the process of blasting my mk1 calipers and other bits n bobs and i'm wanting to paint em black with spray gun any advise on a good paint that ain't gunna be easy to chip to use. also i have a pair of standard struts that come off the car can i put new inserts in these i see there is  a thread at the bottom of the telescopic tube. any help much appreciated cheers jay

Given that the casting of callipers is rough at the best of times I always found that calliper paint that you get in a spray can its more than ample for the job. Heat resistant and plenty of colours and finishes available too.

Problably would be depending how heavy you are on the brakes, can't see chipping been much of a problem because the caliper is shielded by the wheel. The problem you have is the heat generated by the brakes. Heat paint would be the best option. Try the 2 pack you can always strip off if no good, any things worth a try.

Hammerite will do the job on Callipers and will last long. Use it for ages.
