Help - Advice With Sponsor Of OSF

Looking for some help.

 

3 years ago last month I supplied a sponsor on here with a cylinder head (complete), new verniers (x2) and a £600 deposit for cylinderhead work.

 

At first, I had regular updates and phone calls and texts were answered.

 

Things dragged on family and health issues were stated and I believed.

 

For the last 6 months I have received nothing in reply to calls/voice mails/texts.

 

I have spoken to other friends in the area and they advise that "yes he is still trading" and "I was in seeing him the other day", etc.

 

I live over 500 miles from this business and put the work in his direction based on recommendations from this site and users.

 

What options do I now have other than Court proceedings to try and recover my goods and cash supplied?

 

All correspondence/text/pm's are saved and record of the bank transfer.

I'm very sorry to hear that.

 

If your attempts at communication are being ignored I would say you have little option other than taking legal advice and pursuing them through the small claims court.

courts and lawyers are expensive, take it into your own hands, go there and confront him with a few heavies and a truck, if he cant give you your goods (ie hes sold them), take something to that value, plus travelling and heavies expenses, and try to make it something you know hes gonna own rather than customers property, ie tools / tooling thats gonna stop him working, and say he can have them back when you get your stuff back

You can do the court thing easily on money claims online. It's a simple process with minimal outlay which you can get back.

Not suggesting you have done anything wrong, just asking as it seems like a very long time before acting.

Get bank evidence that you paid the £600 and he cashed it, and any other proof/paperwork you have that the deal was set then go and visit him and ask what the score is.

If that doesn't work then court is probably your only option.

If he is still trading seems odd that he doesn't answer the phone, how does he know it is you that is calling?

Only way to know for sure is to make the trip.

Maybe he has caller-ID. Try using someone else's 'phone.

 

Failing that I would send a recorded letter laying out your complaint and giving him 14 days to return your parts and deposit or finish the work. Then I'd go to the small claims court if that doesn't work. My sister took LG to the small claims court and said the court people were really helpful.

For £500 you can put his/her house up for sale at min market value

Yes its legal but its £500 i would send a letter make sure its signed for .

If you get no reply start the house selling option
