accord83 Posted May 14, 2017 Report Posted May 14, 2017 My Yeti has a can of mousse, at just over 3k miles I ran over a key, which dug in the tread and comprehensively fubarred the tyre. I needed full lift recovery as it was midnight Sat/Sun. I hope the numbnuts who lost his door key had his missus slap his head silly and she made him sleep outside in the rain.
Admin Vista Posted May 14, 2017 Admin Report Posted May 14, 2017 My Yeti has a can of mousse  In case it fancies a blow dry?
accord83 Posted May 14, 2017 Report Posted May 14, 2017 Of course, it's a Yeti, it's hairy, I also use Autoglym shampoo and conditioner on it.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted May 15, 2017 Moderator Report Posted May 15, 2017 I just bought 4 of these for my Mk2. http://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/page/185-70vr13-pirelli-cinturato-cn36.html Theyy are the tyres it left the factory shod with. Now re-manufactured. I would be very interested in your thoughts on the re-manufactured CN36s? They apparently use modern compounds so better than the originals but not sure where in their compound range that actually puts them? Are they a long wearing road tyre or a very sporting "R" type compound for the odd track day as well? They certainly look great.
MK1-XOO Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 The factory fitted tyres on a MK1 Sport were 165 x 13 with no profile. The closest wheel diameter now is a 165 80 13 or a 185 70 13. I guess if you guys are replacing engines, boxes and diffs. then any tyre will suit!

MK1-XOO Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 Nice to know a bit more history, I guess that's why a lot of us go for 175 s........as well as the cost of funny size tyres
