TR Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Hi Folks, Terry Ross here again. First things first, many thanks to all you guys and gals for the warm welcome. You'll be pleased to know thanks to Marty, my old GT's future is looking better than it has done for quite some time. However as usual I've decided to make life tough for all concerned. In other words try something stupid. Anyone out there got a Vegantune crossflow for sale? Anyone out there ever had one? Anyone got any info about this engine? Or Vegantune? I've searched and searched but can't a lot of info, apart from the great news that vegantune went bust over Christmas! Great time to try to find one of their engines...not! Anyway, as the saying goes if you don't ask... Cheers Terry. PS. thanks for all the comments re: Speed Freaks. I'll let you lot see any Ford related stuff I might be doing first as it's done.
Admin Vista Posted February 27, 2007 Admin Report Posted February 27, 2007 I don't have any info on them, but why do you specifically want a vegantune?
Twinkle Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 never heard of them they did a load of tuning work on the lotus twin cam engines including their own 16valve heads
TR Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 Why do I want one? Retro Ford magazine. May 2006 issue. Page 126. Centre bottom picture. Plus around 140bhp from an old skool crossflow.
fezza Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 140 bhp is easy enough to get from any well built crossflow spending money in the right places
105Speed Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 That engine was for sale and the person who had it is Guy Smith from Guy Smith Motorsport. I believe V8Ian has already forwarded his contact details to you. It was on e-bay a couple of times too.. but Guy got messed. He may still have it, you never know. Here's one in an Anglia that makes a darn site more than 140bhp... Mmmmm moist like a sponge cake !
TR Posted February 28, 2007 Author Report Posted February 28, 2007 Any idea who owns the Vegantune Anglia? You never know, he or she might have decided it'll look a lot better in my old GT!
105Speed Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 I do know the chap who owned it when that picture was taken and he's sold it to a mate of his and has first dibs on it when it comes up for sale again. I've just spoken to Guy and the engine has gone. But he's a man that's likely to turn up another so its worth while getting in touch with him.
