im in the process of sorting out my leaky 12v v6 in my transit van, currently spewing oil and coolant all over the garage floor, found the coolant leak (rusty pipe fitting at the front of inlet manifold) rocker covers (new gaskets) timing cover (new gaskets) now the sump is horrible, its bent between the bolt holes and is also quite rusty on the inside and out, just wondered if anyone else has tried to fit a 24v cossie alloy sump on there 12v before ? I picked one up today, mounting holes look good, but wont know for sure till ive got a new gasket to lay on it. it does look deeper, got the pick up pipe but don't think it will bolt onto my oil pump, wonder if I can use the 24v oil pump too ? will let you know how it goes

more soon

cheers

It fits , the alloy one is thicker and heavier , and also just must close the two holes on the side`s.

And you better can take the 4 piece gasket , with glue.

that's good to know john, did you modify the pick up pipe or use the cossie oil pump and pick up pipe ?

thanks for your replies john, don't think I will need to modify mine to fit like you have, plenty of room under my transit, will make some plates up to cover the oil return holes at the back on the sides

cheers

Yes , it was a bit of trouble , it`s a Granada mk3 2,8i EFI but not complete , so i bought the k-jectronic from a mk2.

And it`s getting very hot , but i have already a bigger radiator , but it`s not so easy to install becourse i have than also a bit of bodywork to do.

But a triple weber kit was a better choose , and more powerfull.

will keep this thread updated as I get mine back together

Yes , but now i think of it , i think that the oilpan doesn`t fit on a 2.0 V6 , these got a thinner crankshaft.

You can take starter from a 2,0 V6 cortina , capri , Granada mk1/2 , but also from a Granada mk3 2,8 V6 these are thinner , than the fatter capri/Granada 2,8.

You can also take the 4x4 bellhouse with that starter [3 bolts mounting]

In this case you will need the metal plate or a-just the old one.
