Fozzy48 Posted December 29, 2017 Report Posted December 29, 2017 So it's all coming together now. The cozzy calipers and discs are fitted onto my capri axle, (although not perminantly yet). I have the handbrake cable and the pipework sorted thanks to Colr6. So, which way do I put my calipers onto the brackets, with the handbrake cable feed from the back or the front of the axle?. Cheers. Fozzy
Admin Vista Posted December 29, 2017 Admin Report Posted December 29, 2017 Which handbrake cable did you use? I'll dig out a picture of mine.
colr6 Posted December 29, 2017 Report Posted December 29, 2017 It's easier to have the cable facing forwards, reduces any tight curves in the cable which results in an easier action.

Cheers Colin mate. This is the way it's on at the moment as you might have seen last week but I have seen them fed from the back with the cable crossed over on the axle. Cheers. Fozzy

Fozzy You'll problably find that cable is to long and will need chopping, no great shakes if it does though.
Fozzy48 Posted December 29, 2017 Author Report Posted December 29, 2017 Ta mate. This is what I was thinking which would take up quite a bit of slack I think. Cheers. Fozzy
Admin Vista Posted December 29, 2017 Admin Report Posted December 29, 2017 I used a mk5 RS2000 cable, crossed over as you mention, and from memory, the calipers are mounted so that the cable comes in from behind the axle.
Fozzy48 Posted December 29, 2017 Author Report Posted December 29, 2017 Just now, Vista said: I used a mk5 RS2000 cable, crossed over as you mention, and from memory, the calipers are mounted so that the cable comes in from behind the axle. Thanks Vista bud, some things to think about now. Fozzy
Admin Vista Posted December 29, 2017 Admin Report Posted December 29, 2017 Sorry, it turns out I don't have any pics with the cables set up and connected. As you can see though, the calipers are at the bottom of the axle. From memory, the cables come over the top and then connect in from the rear.
DT36 Posted December 29, 2017 Report Posted December 29, 2017 Think mine come in from the axle, straight to the front of the calipers. If I'm right, you will need to fully depress the brake pedal when adjusting up the handbrake. Maybe someone else can confirm this.
Fozzy48 Posted December 29, 2017 Author Report Posted December 29, 2017 Thanks for all the input guys, as usual you've been straight on it. I suppose there's no right or wrong way really as either direction will work equally well. Cheers. Fozzy
