Nick Heer Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 Hi all just need some advice on how to lower my 4X4 1300E as you can see it sits very high standard and i haven't decided what wheels to keep on it yet but have a set of mex steels 5.5 j waiting to go on with tyres 175/70/13 however my issue is how high it sits, i have put a set of lowering springs on front -1 inch but it still has not sat right my issue is i love the drive it has at the moment as all suspension has been refurbished and mostly poly bushes have been added i do not want it slammed just to look slightly lower say -2 inch on front without losing any comfort in the ride the back is straight forward with lowering blocks so its the front i have the issue with the current wheels are capri laser with 185/70/13 tyres any ideas or views please

Ray Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 height wise it is fine just those wheels don't suit it
Ray Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 1 hour ago, Rich T said: 1 hour ago, Ray said: its std 1300GT with1 inch lowering springs from Burtons, which I fitted for him, but Nick needs to go to specsavers, as he has it in his head that theres a large gap at the top of the wheel, giving it a 4x4 look, or if you like in take off mode whats not being taken into account is, the std 1300GT had std wings, the 1300E was fitted with RS wings, so the wheel arch is a lot bigger, but it was never fitted with RS suspension to give it a lower stance so what he is basically asking, is what he needs to do to lower the car a lot further, but he dosnt want to loose the ride comfort he has at the moment, tbh I don't know enough about the lowering side of things, so really he needs to find someone to do it for him, but if I'm right, he will need to change the struts, brakes and steering etc for something like capri gear, but that's where someone else needs to help him out personally, I think hes worrying over nothing and I would leave well alone at the -1
Rich T Posted April 7, 2018 Report Posted April 7, 2018 Yeh, i get you. Was having a blonde moment when i read the start of the thread.
Admin Vista Posted April 7, 2018 Admin Report Posted April 7, 2018 Car looks fine as it is to me. If you like the way it drives then dont mess with it.
