scottsmex Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Could anybody help me?On tuesday some arse rammed my mk2 escort with only 29000 miles on it in the back. The other driver drove off. The cars a total loss and gave my missus a trip to hospital. The police seem to be doing zero and unhelpfull. If anybodys around Leicester and see a red Cosa with front end damage,reg:P536OAK , in a driveway, could you post me his location on this site. I need a quiet chat if you know what i mean ! MANY THANKS SCOTT.

scottsmex Posted March 1, 2007 Author Report Posted March 1, 2007 Thanks for the messages, the insurance are dealing with it,but a word of warning , I work at the body shop were it is and the day after it happend Universal salvage rang to take the salvage away. No settlement had been mentioned yet, NO WAY. Dont let them try to take your OSF unless you authorise it!

john_3.0s Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 A letter to your local chief constable should do it, if not go down there in person and request to speak to somebody. Police are generally useless when it comes down to this thing unless you really push them, if you dont get anywhere write to your local MP and the local paper(s) - the old bill hate bad press and the press love to write about the "hard done by" citizens as it makes a good read.

MK II Mark Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 A letter to your local chief constable should do it, if not go down there in person and request to speak to somebody. John speaks the truth here, get pen to paper and write to the chief constable stating that you wish to make a formal complaint if you do not get a satisfactory result, send a copy to your MP for his information but make sure that that the chief con is aware of the MP's copy and I bet you will recieve a better level of service from the police.
john_3.0s Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 John speaks the truth here I have had to do it in the past a number of times and it normally seems to do the trick, basically like any organisation nobody gives an @rse about the little man unless you make their lives difficult and show them up as being useless in an open forum. You'll get jack all unless you push them im afraid. Good luck bud, keep us posted
Admin Mk2Jo Posted March 2, 2007 Admin Report Posted March 2, 2007 I don't wish to be disrespectful here and am genuinely gutted for you but we don't know who you are and you have not shown us any pics of your car. All OSF members should be wary of giving out details of the Red Corsa if they see it as there is no current proof of this accident. Again, apologies if your loss is genuine but you must appreciate the reason for my comments
Daggle Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Nice one Jo, Sorry to hear about your loss, but there is no way that i am going to do checks on something that is not related to me..... , You make no mention of even contacting the Police or what they have done
scottsmex Posted March 2, 2007 Author Report Posted March 2, 2007 Thanks for all the comments, i understand some peoples reservations but this is really a cry for help. I am totally gen. have not got a clue how to put photos on a computer. The police are involved, incident no.432/27/2/07 if anyone wants to check, the other driver stank of booze and admitted drinking before driving of and threatened my missus. We rang the police from the scene, they told her to go home and wait for a visit before going to hospital. Six hours later we rang ,to be told TO BUSY to come out ,you come to us tommorow as we are shut now! Now told should be in contact with him by next week, but wont tell me his info...data protection and to protect his privacy! Is he insured or not ? who knows. Many thanks again scott.
escamino Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 When a guy hit the back of my car, then didn't want to give details, went to the local cop shop, filled in a form and they sent me his address so could pass on to my insurers.
Danmex Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 When a guy hit the back of my car, then didn't want to give details, went to the local cop shop, filled in a form and they sent me his address so could pass on to my insurers. They did that for me as well, unfortunatley the twat had conviniently reported it stolen about half an hour after I was hit, even though it was being driven by a doris with two kids in the back, not your average joyriders
Admin Mk2Jo Posted March 2, 2007 Admin Report Posted March 2, 2007 Good luck in getting somewhere with catching those responsible Scott .... don't let the insurance company take your car though .... you may never get it back
