Never did like the plastic Mk2 buckets and the awkward adjuster it has. Even with brand new original rings the lights dont fit into the buckets that well and never adjust properly. Early Mk2s had a metal version 75 to 76 that are a bit better but still with poor adjustment. Thats whats in the car at the moment. If you could make that bracket work by cutting it down or whatever that would be good as it clearly has better adjustment. One of the reason why I bought the Carellos was to do away with the Lucas rings that never fit properly as the Carellos have their own arms without the need for rings. I hoping that would be a bit better in the original buckets. Just searching for bulbs for them as they aren't the usual H4s that I use.

mine wer in the metal buckets as the cars a 76

i think the black backs are mk1 escort or cortina. my steel backs are the same shape as the plastic mk2 backs. i'm sure they will go in a mk2 though.  the rings and the fittings look the same though.

No mine are more squared at the front like the plastic ones with holes for the plastic screw grill clips to clip into,  also with different type rings.

I’ve got the std Lucas round ones as in the pic, the plates that came with the new lights. Haven’t been through all the boxes yet to see if I have the normal mk2 plastic ones yet.

I have a brand new pair of Ford/Lucas H4's (With the H4 in Blue) complete with chrome mounting rings and back plates, but don't know what back bowl they fit into, if anyone knows and would like to advise me !!??.

I will try and load up a picture of them, perhaps someone knows what I need to fit them into an Escort MK2

Thanks.

Hi,

I have 4 of these in the box, but don't know what back bowl they need to be able to use them on a MK2 Escort.

They do not fit into the plastic version of the bowl, so am at a loss as to what to mount them into.

If anyone can give any info on this, I would be most grateful.

The box's have a 75AB part number, so I am 99% sure they are MK2 Escort

They would fit the normal run of the mill Lucas bowl as fitted to most cars 60/70s Located by two adjusters and a spring from the bowl to light case. If the would fit the steel type escort ones as RWL81P showed not sure, he may be able to enlighten more on that one

looking at those i'm sure theyre same as mine that were fitted in the metal rear bowls i posted in that other pic.  i would post a pic but i think the lights are either in a box in the garage roof or at my dads garage in the boot of the car. 75ab should be mk2 escort. its been a while since i looked at the lights but the plastic bowls are only a newer rust proof version of my metal ones.

Ok guy's,

Looks as though I need to have the round bowl to sit inside the square bowl, so as to still have the mounting points for the grill.

Ford really are a Devil for making model specific parts for certain years and then changing them.

Appreciate all help.

Cheers.
