Are there any issues in posting things to Italy around this time of year? I sent back a pair of Carello headlights for exchange a week before Christmas via express post and full tracking and it hasn't got there yet. It says that it left Sydney and then absolutely nothing as if it just vanished into thin air. There is no mention it even landed in Italy. The seller was kind enough to send the replacements in advance before receiving my ones back and they arrived over a week ago. I asked him about it and he wasn't worried at all as if there is some kid of postal shutdown in Italy this time of year. Is there something Im missing or have they passed over a war zone or something never to be seen again? Thanks

Europe practically shuts down for 2 weeks around Christmas and new year. I went back to work last Wednesday, but a lot of our staff and suppliers are not back to full swing until Monday.

I was suspecting that was the case. I would have thought even though it may not be processed and dispatched that someone in Italy would have at least scanned it to show that its even in the country at some point

I had the same issue from justins ford parts the chrimbo before this one tbh, I think its an Aussie issue more than a European one tbh RP, took about 2 months to arrive in the end, whereas normal time of year a couple of weeks, I actually put a claim in thru e-bay, and the parcels arrived after the pay out

This time of year I understand things take a bit longer to get places. With this one though I paid extra for express air postage and the tracking says its left Sydney but then nothing. Its been flying for more than two weeks! It wouldn't bother me how long it takes if only I could see it progressing slowly but there is no reference to it even arriving in Europe. After I sent the lights I sent the seller a copy of my receipt and a couple of days he sent the replacement lights which was really good of him. I have had the replacements he sent for over a week whereas I have no record of the ones I sent once they left Australia. That to me suggest its more an Italian thing than Australian as the incoming parcel was processed pretty quickly. The reason for me sending them back was there are some Carellos with the Ford symbol on them and others just with an empty oval. I wanted the Ford ones naturally LOL

e bay refunded my money within hours, because on the Australian system, there was no way to track it once it left Australia, literally only trackable inside Australia, so I would guess you have a waiting game

That's just silly isn't it? You can certainly fully track things the other direction. It has to be signed for at least so I should get notification with that. What would you need to get from Australia that you can get there in the UK?

whilst Justin is expensive, he does have a lot of NOS parts that you cant get else where, or certainly elsewhere at the time when you want it

Ahhhh Justo74ikIO. I know who you are referring to now. Yes his prices can take your breath away but sometimes there are no other options. That was the only place in the world I could find a new brake bias valve for the Mk2.

Result! Sort of. I got tracking notices that the parcel had landed and cleared customs and then the next day had attempted to be delivered. But no one was there to sign for it. It made it to Italy at least! The notices made out its been in flight all this time but I suspect there was just a bit of a holiday shut down and it sat in a warehouse somewhere until everyone went back to work.
