On paper my mk1 (1500 standard) 0-60 is 20 secs (I know porsche killing speed 😂) the gt is 14 seconds. Now, it's got a 32 36 dgv carb, gt inlet, stainless gt exhaust manifold and custom exhaust system same gear box altho diff is of unknown ratio... Everything else stock. Done a very accurate (🤐) 0-60 earlier So, place your bets..... What was the final score on the doors...... Show me your guesses.........

chinkamon Posted April 1, 2019 Author Report Posted April 1, 2019 Well I was kinda hoping ud all guess round the 16-18 second mark, not lower haha! 13.4 seconds!! And to be sure we did it 3 times! 13.4, 13.7, 13.5 I reckon on a straight road we'd get 13! So raises the question. Wot diff have I got and is there any other tinkering been done before I bought the car cos JEEZ she flew! Altho, I don't think it'd do anymore than 65mph with the axle in place! A funny whirring noise coming from it at 60!🤔🤨 2

chinkamon Posted April 3, 2019 Author Report Posted April 3, 2019 So any ideas why my back axle/diff is making a whirring noise at 60mph? Is it cos it hasn't really done 60mph for the last 10 year, or is there something worn out? I replaced the oil in engine gearbox and axle about 8 month ago but it has always made the noise, but I rarely if ever go 60mph so forgot about it?
