Ben Perry Posted August 21, 2019 Report Posted August 21, 2019 Hi all just wondering if anyone has had any experience with ebc unlimax pads as myself and a mate running them (mk2 escy and Orion) and we ain’t convinced lol
mpdevelopments.uk Posted August 22, 2019 Report Posted August 22, 2019 I use them on my suzuki swift sport. Find them great pad for the price. They Stop well and they last toSent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk 1
deltamal Posted August 22, 2019 Report Posted August 22, 2019 Not EBC, but I used to have Green stuff pads in my mk3 Tina but they used to squeal a lot when stopping, swapped to Mintex, same stopping power and no squealing!

I had green stuff in my cossy and couldn’t fault them minimal brake dust to good on sharktooths for cleaning reasons lol but the ebc ultimax in my lighter escort just seem like you really gotta work hard

Prob not hot enough

BigBubba Posted August 28, 2019 Report Posted August 28, 2019 Think they’re basically standard road pads with a jazzy name! If you’re looking for advice on pads, give George Snee a shout at roadtrackraceparts.com Completely unbiased advice, and steered me right trying to source pads for my gtr280 brakes recently.
mpdevelopments.uk Posted August 29, 2019 Report Posted August 29, 2019 It's like everything else on a car. Price dictates quality / and how deep are ur pockets..Mintex 1144.fast rd 1155. Fast rd or track Or even 1166 track only pads cost.Ferodo ds2500 pads same. Just depends how much ur willing to pay for good brakes. Ebc green stuff. yellow . blue . and orange pads are the same.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted August 29, 2019 Moderator Report Posted August 29, 2019 I have always had a preference for Ferodo DS Performance pads for road cars. More seem put DS2500's in their road cars where the DS has the same breaking coefficient at cooler temperatures. Meaning that on the road they work from the get go and you don't have that scary moment before the disks heat up enough before your braking efforts begin to kick in. They are also easier on rotors. The trade off is that the cant sustain that efficiency with consistent heavy breaking from track work etc but work effectively even with the most spirited road driving. I don't even use vented rotors any more so they still have more up their sleeve if you have more efficiently cooled disks.
