Does anybody in the UK make a quality old fashion enamelled keyring or key fob any more? I had a great Ford RS one that unfortunately the leather part has let go and when I checked on the auction site they are pretty much all cheap plastic crap.

The old one was an enamel one like this.

I bought one of these, more of a Mk1 type thing but it seems to be a tradition type enamel of reasonable quality. Still on the look out for a more Mk2 RS design though.

Why not take your old one to an upholsterer and get some new leather cut and stitched.

Yes definitely I have been looking into that as well but so far haven't found anyone local that would do a one off. Yet again the UK seems the better place for this type of craftsman. Also the enamel has chipped in places so if im going to all that trouble I should get it fixed first. The enamel badge part were made in Birmingham apparently and then made into key fobs.

I cant seem to see that image Dale, I just get a broken link.

The one for my Twincam is a bit older but the enamelling and the leather are much better quality.

I thought this one may be of interest to you Col, you can combine both interests into one! I had no idea Ford made a Cortina motorcycle.

Yes the enamelling isn't to bonnet badge standards but if I remember they only costs 7 or 8 pounds so for a British made product it was great value. From what I can gather the Birmingham Badge maker would sell them and others would affix them to their own leather fobs. I noted three variations with the same badge. Your version the leather is of much better quality than on mine and it was that part that let go. I did start to have some enamel chipping too though. It was a nice key fob dont you think?

You cant seem to get a decent Ford RS or Escort Enamelled keyring any more but they make joke ones in enamel, go figure! I just didn't picture thieves bothering with keys to have the opportunity to read the warning?

Why not get one of these and get your badge stitched to it.

The RS badge one likes yours needs a bit of a loop of leather and then it needs to be completely unstitched to get it attached, it would be easier to find someone who makes the fobs from scratch and get them to incorporate the badge into a new fob. (Better quality leather this time like your one) But the issue that the enamel is starting to chip is there and getting a new one overall would be easier and cheaper.
