English back Axle identification.

Is there anyway to determine the origin of an English axle

Flange to flange it measures 48 1/2"

All threads are UNF

If the threads on the anti roll bar mounts are unf then would suspect mk1 1300E as mk2 are m10@Ray would poss be able to confirm.

I’d say late mk1 Escort due to the threads being unf

Well not sure what the threads were originally in the anti roll bar mounting as they are non existent now, but that is no problem as they will be coming off anyway.

Have just made some blanking plates to keep the shotblast stuff from getting inside

escort case is 48.5 wide some are upto 48.75

with ARB brackets its post nov 73, think from memory the nuts in the ARB brackets should be UNC or metric, as the threads are quite coarse, but need to check and confirm, from the pics there seems to be a brake pipe clip missing from the centre top, neither can I see the brake pipe to hose bracket, the bracket changed position in nov 73 to enable the ARB brackets to be fitted and the small brake pipe changed with it, it may just be the photos, but the bracket for the handbrake adjustment looks missing as well
