By request @Huge There was some discussion about whether rear screen Louvres are an attractive accessory these days. They had a bit of a following in the 70's and 80's but sort of went out of style, some thinking them a bit tacky and aftermarket. In my main Escort days in the 80s and 90s Louvres on Mk2 Escorts were perfectly acceptable and due to our high UV exposure here it even helped those fragile C Pillar trims from turning to powder. Strangely though it was not acceptable to put Louvres on Mk1 Escorts back then as it was said it didn't suit its more rounded shape. I did acquire a Mk1 Louvre in my travels but it just got stored under the house and never used. @Nick Heer showed in a recent thread that they can and do look really really nice on the right car so much so I dug out my old one.

The retro look of them seems to make people comment on mine on the Mk2 more than they did before and always cheerful. Will the anoraks go off the deep end if one became a feature on the Twincam? So do like them or give them a miss?

Please post any photos of your own or others to help the undecided make up their minds. Also mention what brands you have as I'm curious about how many different manufacturers there were.

PS We had Louvres for Cortinas too here so if you have other OSF cars with them on post those too.

You can just make out the profile of it in this one.

I think they had their time and not sure how they would look now, If there was a real time warp barn find and had one I'd still take it off , plus you would not be able to see the high level brake light otherwise ,😆

I had one on a xr3 Back in the 80s it looked good on a silver mk3 , no pics sorry

We didnt get XR3s (or Mk3 Escorts for that matter) but the photos I have seen rear with louvres really do suite them. Red ones especially.

There's a set of mk2 Escort rear screen louvres advertised for sale near me if anyone is looking for a set?

I would love to see the UK mk2 louvres! The Mk1s are different so it would be interesting to see if the Mk2 ones are different as well. Were they asking a lot for them?

Voted 👍

For me it’s the limited number of cars with louvres that provide a unique curiosity & therefore something errrr.....different 🤔

I noticed your vote for Mk2s only, so you wouldn't want one for Daisy then?

No not for Daisy - I do like yours but I think the white & black compliment each other, I can’t quite understand them on a Mk1, I never saw one on a car back in the day 🤷‍♂️😁
