Johnny Boy Posted June 8, 2021 Report Posted June 8, 2021 I'm looking for a pair of good unworn bonnet hinge's for my MK1 Cortina, the paint / body man says that they a worn. Please let me know if you have a good pair for sale. Thanks Johnny
V8ian Posted June 8, 2021 Report Posted June 8, 2021 Somewhere in the back of my mind, I seem to remember bonnet hinges are generic thru Mk 1 & 2 cortina and Mk 1 & 2 Escort, I think they all fit, worth a check.
Johnny Boy Posted June 8, 2021 Author Report Posted June 8, 2021 Thanks, I thought the same too, but I bought some MK2 Cortina ones, and MK2 Escort ones. They were both indentical, to each other, but not the same as MK1 Cortina.🙄
colr6 Posted June 8, 2021 Report Posted June 8, 2021 I re pinned mine using slightly larger Clevis pins drilling to suit and peening the heads over, worked a treat.

Johnny Boy Posted July 14, 2021 Author Report Posted July 14, 2021 All sorted, I got some 10mm clevis pins , and got a pal to turn the ends down , drilled the hinges to 10mm,then drilled a hole in the end, and rivited them in place by using a press 😀
