Hello Everyone

My MK 1 Escort was re painted in Ermine White many years ago as part of the restoration.   What numbers/letters would I look at on the plates under my bonnet to establish the original colour, as painted by Ford 49 years ago ?

Thank you

One of our seasoned members has a in-depth guide, I'm sure he'll be along once he's done chasing poisonous snakes and spiders 😁

I dont actually chase them, I just seem to accidentally step on them while walking the dog or they live in the car guards if I leave them idle too long!

I try keep a small data base for South African, Australian and New Zealand cars but for the UK vehicle paint colours @dt36 is your man. So can you possibly give us a photo of the Vin plate and if its a Uk or SA car or whatever we can check out the codes as they vary from country to country and their associated codes. Some share the same colour but have different codes depending on what country it was built.
