kev the rev Posted February 25, 2022 Report Posted February 25, 2022 as above wanted ballast part that controls the two speeds on the heater motor cheers
colr6 Posted February 25, 2022 Report Posted February 25, 2022 10watt 3 ohm resistor off eBay. Modern equivalent, it’s just a block with the wires out the ends which requires soldering in. I’ll get you pic of the ones I use tomorrow.

Heater has two wires, brown is earth other is feed. You should find two wires with spades on in a single loom which are your speed one and two wires. Speed 1 goes via resister to coloured wire on heater. Speed 2 goes direct to coloured wire on heater. Hope that helps, can’t remember the colours but a tester will tell you which is speed one and two from switch.

One side of switch goes to earth the other via the resistor to earth. Ign feed goes to heater directly.

On the wiring diagram #87 is the std. switch and #86 is the resistor. The tri - colour wire in the 3rd picture is the fused 12v power - I've NEVER found this wire available anywhere - typical Ford really!

I used some rigid plastic fibre board. Actually it was an old pub board out of a computer. Pop riveted two spades on one end and one on the other, soldered the resistor to one on each end. Alloy mount bracket and screwed it to the outer heater case in line with the heater controls. Mines all built up so no pics of done I’m afraid. Your chance of finding an original are pretty slim and if you do you’ll have to sell a kidney to purchase. Edited February 28, 2022 by colr6

Miniliteman Posted February 28, 2022 Report Posted February 28, 2022 The resistor itself looks like this. 1
